I'm out dealing with some personal matters. The expectation is that you all work together to gain an understanding of the context behind our next unit: The Crucible. This is a play that deals with several large concepts. We will discuss those concepts tomorrow. Today is all about building an understanding of the Puritan beliefs; those drive the play. In groups, students will work to discuss and identify different components of the Puritan belief system and how it relates to the concept of witchcraft. Here are the notes and directions for today's activity: Puritan Background Building Additionally, you will need the readings for today's activity. There are four groups (if you followed the directions in the warm-up), and there are four pages of readings. Each group will be assigned a page to read (it's only a page... no complaints). The remaining directions are on today's Google Slides. Group 1 Reading Group 2 Reading Group 3 Reading Group 4 Reading Health You will be taking notes on carbohydrates and proteins today! Periods 1-3 GATSBY TEST! Students are allowed to use their Movie Viewing Guides on the test, but NOTHING else. There are four viewing guides, and they are all labeled in the top corner. Anything without “Movie Viewing Guide” on it must be away for the test. If they have their Socratic Seminar responses, please collect those before the test. Several students have been gone a few days this unit; please instruct them to still take the test. I can schedule retakes with them if they feel it is needed. No electronics can be out during the test. If someone has an ipod or phone while they still have their test, please write “Phone Out” on the top of the page and inform them that they will be receiving a zero until I schedule a retake with them. Once students are done with the test, they are allowed to listen to music (at a low level) and silently work on other class work or read. NUTRITION TEST 1!
