Hello all; I'm so sorry I couldn't be here the last day before break! I started to come down with a fever last night and it wouldn't relent this morning. That being said, yesterday was the last time I'll see your shining faces until next month! :/ I will be in over break to grade and get things ready for the last few weeks of the semester; don't worry, I won't be having more fun than you all.
I hope that you each have a wonderful and enjoyable break. I will see you in the new year!!! -Miss C English 3 Students are to complete and turn-in their character Facebook assignment. Please pay attention to ALL of the requirements on the handout. If students run out of room on their template paper, they can use the back of a new piece of paper If a student has created a digital Facebook account, please have them friend request me FROM THAT ACCOUNT ONLY. Once they finish this assignment, they can hangout and/or work on their scenes that will be performed beginning the day we get back from break. English 2 Honors There are questions to go along with yesterday's TED Talk. Please post the questions under the document camera, read through them with the students, and have them respond to the questions independently. After about 8-10 minutes, have students share their responses with each other. If students have any further questions about the TED Talk, please have them submit those questions via the Class Website. The TED Talk forms and responses to today's questions should be turned-in to the black crate on my table (the one with the red table cloth on the side of the room). TED Talk Questions Health This class was SUPPOSED to have a quiz today, but you're off the hook. Instead, please respond to the following prompt on a piece of paper: What are some unhealthy behaviors you might personally face over break? How might you be able to overcome those behaviors and make healthy choices, instead? Thiss prompt needs to be turned-in and left on the counter near the printer.

Finalizating and rehearsing day for our scenes!!!! Groups were instructed to go through their script and rehearse their scenes. This is the ONLY rehearsal day we will have in-class. English 2 Honors Final revision day. Groups worked with a hard-copy of their essay to mark-in what needed to be added and/or adjusted. Final Revision Prompts Health GUEST SPEAKER! We met in Mr. Schmidt's room and heard from Office Jackson about the impact that the use of drugs and alcohol can have on our lives. English 3
We updated the schedule today! Sicne we had a snow-day last week, it messed-up the timing I had set-up for us. Instead of performing this week, we will be sharing our scenes once we get back from break. I have the information in the slides below. December 12 Info English 2 Honors Today was about looking at our peers' writing to make sure all necessary componenents are present (hint: I haven't seen an essay that would quite meet all of the requirements for 5s in all areas, so no one has ALL of the necessary components yet). Here are the slides to walk through the TAPE processing. Once we finished this information, the partnerships went through the rubric to identify where the essay overall would fall for a grade. TAPE Procecss 12/12 Health We started wrapping-up the drug unit. I want you to notice how much this applies to our lives and local world. I will post all of the slides on Wednesday when we finish the presentation instead of segmenting it. We will be in Mr. Schmidt's room tomorrow for another guest speaker. Please report to room 403 at the start of class. I've been pretty open with you all, so you know that I'm working on some reassessment in my work, so I'm sorry that the site was pushed to the back-burner this past week while I got things a bit more organized.
English 3 We continued working on the scenes that we started on Tuesday. Today's focus was dialogue; while we worked on the setting and outline yesterday, we actually began writing the dialogue for the scenes today. The final scripts will be typed-up on Monday and printed off for your performance next week. English 2 Honors Today was another work day on our synthesis essays. Before adding to our essays, though, we did an anonymous rubric checks. Students read each others' work and indicated where the essays fell on the rubric as well as provided positive and constructive criticism. After that, we worked on our rough drafts. Health Guest speaker day! We had "The Organ Lady" in today to talk to us about the impact of our decisions on our internal bodies. |
