IT'S BEEN A WHILE! I'm finally back at school and it feels so good to be back in with the students. I apologize for my absence--both in the classroom and on the website.
ENGLISH 2 Since I was out for the conclusion of one unit and the beginning of another, I want to make sure everyone (mainly me) is on the same page! Students filled me in on what they have worked on through the last two weeks. We then got right in to the requirements and expectations of this final unit of the year: SHORT STORIES! We looked at the UNIT OUTLINE and discussed the different elements that must be included in the assessment. Additionally, we went through a DIALOGUE sheet and discussed the three different ways that dialogue is helpful in developing a story instead of simply relying on narration. FRESHMAN LEADERSHIP Today was all about getting back to the concept of stereotypes and understanding the harm in viewing the possible negative attributes in a group as a whole. Here are my notes from today about why it is so important to think about the positives when considering different groups. PAGE 1 and PAGE 2
