While you guys have been working on normalizing your schedules and routines, so have I! Here's what we did in classes today:
ALL CLASSES
We need notebooks on Monday. Come in to class prepared with your notebook and something to write with. Our first written warm-up will be on Monday. English 3 Today was Arena Day! We went to the gym and got our pictures taken, bought ASB, Yearbooks, and Parking Passes, and learned a bit about a few groups here at CHS. When we got back to class, we conducted an activity to get us thinking about how WE define America. --> In the middle of a blank page, write the word "America." --> In the white space around America, jot down anything and everything that you think of when you think about or hear the word "America." We will be using these pages on Monday!!! Make sure to bring your page back. Health We talked about SPIES today!! S- Social Health P- Physical Health I- Intellectual Health E- Emotional Health S- Spiritual Health All About Me activity: --> Segment a blank piece of paper into four sections. On the front of the page, label the four quadrants as Social, Physical, Intellectual, and Emotional. Label the entire back of the page as Spiritual. --> Draw or write a representation of how you currently maintain good SPIES in your life. Due MONDAY: -All About Me -Video Viewing Permission Well, we made it through day one, everybody. All classes got through the materials we were aiming for and the student involvement was high.
I'm sorry that I talked at you all so much today; I promise that there are many days of interaction and collaboration ahead of us. Now that you have a decent understanding of my background and our class expectations, hopefully we can meet each other throughout the journey through the school year. -Miss C I'm so excited to be back as a BRUIN!! I know I said I was leaving, but it's apparently much more difficult to get rid of me than everyone thought. I had freshmen and sophomores last year, and now they're giving me the responsibility of teaching juniors and freshmen! I am thrilled to be teaching three periods of Junior English and two periods of Health.
While everyone finishes-up summer vacation, we teachers have been at the school getting everything ready for the year! Mrs. Youngberg (formerly Miss Andrist) and I have been working with the Link Leaders to get everything prepared and ready for tomorrow's freshman orientation! If you have questions about what that means, pop those questions below. Check back later to get updates on assignments and school-happenings that you might want to get involved in! -Miss C |
